Netherton Edge

Netherton Edge, sometimes known as Devil’s Rock, comprises a series of short gritstone buttresses running along the south facing rim of the valley between Netherton and Honley. There are a surprising number of buttresses hidden amongst the trees, the rock is mostly sound and there are some decent problems dotted around. Some of the problems can be a little highball.
Access
The group of houses closest to the crag don’t offer any sensible parking options so it’s probably best to park on Coppice Drive and take the foot path running down the side of number 50 to access Lightenfeild Lane, follow this to the junction in the houses, turn left and take the footpath running between some houses to access the top of the crag.
Alternative parking is available where Netherton Moor Rd meets Sandbeds near Hinchcliffe’s Farm Shop following the same footpath in the opposite direction to again arrive at the top of the crag.
