Milnsbridge Boulder

The Milnsbridge Climbing Boulder is an artificial outdoor climbing facility located at the Crow Lane Recreation Ground in Milnsbridge. Conceived and commissioned in 2014 by the Milnsbridge Enhancement Group it was then designed and constructed by specialist manufacturers Bendcrete Leisure.

The boulder itself is made from concrete sprayed onto a bespoke mesh-covered metal frame, with shapes and holds then carved by hand into the surface. It’s approximately 10 metres long by 3 metres wide and 3 metres high and is designed to be durable with a natural stone colour to fit in with the surrounding area.

At present there are no documented problems on the boulder but we’d be more than happy to include any in the guide if people want to send them in to us. There is safety matting in place at the foot of the boulder but we’d advise taking a bouldering mat if possible.

Access

The boulder is fairly obvious within the park. Park up on an adjacent road, probably best to keep away from the side with houses so park on the side nearest to the boulder and find a gap in the fence or a gate to access the park.
