Paul Perkins' revised edition to the infamous 'Yellow Book' is a well worthwhile compendium of local routes and boulder problems. An excellent buy at £5; it may already be out of print but do ask at the wall to see if copies can be made available.

NEW BOULDER AT BROUGHTON
A giant boulder has being installed at Broughton wall. For a taster, check out the guidebook here at this web-site. A more exhaustive guide can be obtained from Broughton's own web-page (see Links). Broughton is still one of the best indoor bouldering venue in Britain and certainly the most well-documented, with more 1000 problems on record. Grades range from UK tech grade 4b to 7a, though the emphasis is on the steep and powerful. It may be over the Pennines from Yorkshire but the M62 takes you almost to the doorstep... and just lifting the guide to read it regularly will increase your climbing standard.
