SPOT THE BOULDER!

September's boulder lies little more than 20 miles (as the crow flies) from Sheffield and from Leeds). It offers a 20m traverse on rough grit slopers; a grand pump!
The views are superb; looking down from (almost) on the Pennine watershed, more than one other gritstone climbing area can be seen below. And yet it's only a 2 second approach from the road.

Where is it?

The route description:

Circumnavigate the great slanting block clockwise.
Start on easy ground behind the boulder.
Swing downhill on slopers in the low break,
feet on the backwall (5c)
Pull through to a rest in the niche at the
downhill point of the boulder.
Traverse left (crux) around the lowest point,
feet on the lip, not on the boulders/backwall beneath (6a/6b).
Finish uphill, along the rising break on the left sidewall.
Pull over the corner of the top overhang to finish.

Grade: V4
